Ted Simmons

About Ted Simmons:
Ted Simmons was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 1967 MLB Draft. Simmons' played 21 successful seasons in the major leagues, best known for his power hitting as a catcher. His lifetime batting average, .285, is tied with Hall of Famer Yogi Berra and tops other Hall of Fame catchers like Johnny Bench and Carlton Fisk. Simmons ended his incredible playing career with 2,472 lifetime hits, eight All-Star appearances, a Silver Slugger Award and an induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2020.
